Ocumeda continues its international growth path and brings the Ocumeda eye check-up to Southern Europe for the first time. Since spring 2026, the eye check-up has been available at selected locations in Italy and Spain. In the coming months and years, the network is expected to grow successively in these countries as well.

More than 500,000 eye check-ups performed in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland form the foundation for this step. The proven concept is now also intended to contribute to detecting eye diseases early in other European markets, even before the first symptoms occur.

The Ocumeda eye check-up follows a hybrid care approach: specially trained specialists perform measurements directly in the optician shop using modern equipment. The collected data is then evaluated digitally within a network of qualified ophthalmologists. Already the next day, participants receive a medical report with a comprehensible assessment and individual recommendations for action.

With the international rollout, Ocumeda consistently continues the expansion of the international screening network. Together with the strong network of partners such as ZEISS and Fielmann, eye screening is thus brought directly into people's everyday lives across Europe.
